A unique and unforgettable experience for birdwatching and nature lovers at Huacarpay Lagoon. The natural beauty of the Lucre-Huacarpay Wetland, located at 3,050 MASL, boasts a temperate climate and is near the Pikillacta Archaeological Site (Wari Civilization).
Its greenish-blue waters and lush vegetation create a unique ecosystem, home to endemic species, some endangered, and stunning migratory birds.

- After an early pick-up from your hotel, we head in our minivan for a 45-minute drive to Huacarpay Lagoon.
- 2nd Huacarpay Lagoon “Lucre-Huacarpay Ramsar Site”
- At Huacarpay Lagoon, surrounded by wetlands, we’ll observe birds such as:
- Bearded Mountaineer
- Rusty Fronted Canastero
- Streak Fronted Thornbird
- Many Colored Rush Tyrant
- Plumbeous Rail
- Puna Teal
- Cinnamon Teal
- Giant Hummingbird
- Black Tailed Trainbearer
After our picnic lunch by the lagoon, we continue observing more birds, such as:

- After our strategic birdwatching route, we return to Cusco.
