We will visit the best archaeological sites around Cusco.
Moray Terraces.
Moray is an archaeological site near Cusco, Peru. It is characterized by its circular terraces and is located at 3,500 MASL.
Maras Salt Mines.
The salt mines consist of approximately 3,000 pools fed by an underground spring. They are located at 3,380 meters, 56.8 km from the city of Cusco, in the Sacred Valley. According to legend, the salt forms from the tears of Ayar Cachi (one of the brothers of Ayar Manco, founder of Cusco), who died crying because he could not found the Tahuantinsuyo. The tears were dried by the sun, forming salt flats with pink and lilac hues.
Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.
Built before the 15th century, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru, on a mountain range at 2,430 meters above sea level. The Historic Sanctuary - Machu Picchu National Archaeological Park is a cultural and natural area according to UNESCO. Spanning 37,302 hectares, it is one of Peru’s most biodiverse areas and houses over 60 archaeological monuments connected by a complex network of Inca trails.
